You are invited to the Exhibition Opening Reception for Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at the Brazos Valley African American Museum in Bryan, Texas. Enjoy displays, refreshments, and music while viewing a traveling Smithsonian Museum on Main Street exhibition. The exhibition will include national and local displays and will be open to the public from May 5, 2018 through June 9, 2018. Hometown Teams is a part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and Texas State Historical Association. The Museum is an Arts Council Affiliate and this event is made possible in part through Hotel Tax Revenue Funding from the Cities of College Station and Bryan through the Arts Council of Brazos Valley. Local supporters include Lone Star Storage, Shannon’s Cafe, FastSigns, and Lamar Advertising. Visit the sports related book displays in partnerships with libraries in Brenham, Bryan, Caldwell, College Station, and Navasota.
