Students in grades K-12 across Brazos Valley are invited to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through art and writing! This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase creativity, reflect on civil rights, and win exciting prizes like cash or gift cards!
Themes by Grade Level:
K-3: “How Can I Create Peace & Unity in My Community?”
4-6: “What Does Leadership Look Like to You?”
7-8: “What Are Some Characteristics of Dr. King You Would Like to Mimic and Why?”
9-12: “What Initiative Would You Create to Address a Pressing Social Issue?”

Key Dates:
– Submission Deadline: January 6, 2025, by 6:00 PM

Prizes: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category will be recognized, and winning entries may even be displayed at the Brazos Valley African American Museum!
